How’s it going everybody? It’s Lucas Scheele with KC Pier and Kansas City Property Guys. And today we’re actually out in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, doing a little bit of a foundation project. We have got a wall pushback here as well as an interior drain system. And lucky for us, we got Brian Dufour, our director of operations for KC Pier here on site today, and he’s going to explain exactly what we’re doing. So let’s jump right in.
Lucas Scheele:
How’s it going today Brian?

So far so good.
Lucas Scheele:
Awesome. Where are we at today?
Wall Push Back
Brian Dufour:
We are out in the country in the middle of Lee’s Summit in Pleasant Hill doing a wall push back on two foundation walls. As you can see behind me, we have everything set up to start the pushing process. The walls in about three inches. There was a bunch of bushes and trees in the front yard and negative drainage causing the walls to come in. So what we’re doing is we set everything on 6x6s and we are lifting the structure about a quarter inch off the main foundation to relieve the pressure. And then we have 6x6s between at a 45 degree angle. And what that’s to do is to push the wall to structure limitations. Nine times out of 10, we can get it back flush, but really the foundation lets us know when it’s time to stop.
Brian Dufour:
We are going to push this here in about a half hour or so. We still got a little more prep before we get there, but everything else is ready and it’s set and good to go.

Where are we at today?
Interior Drain System
Brian Dufour:
We are in Lee’s Summit, Pleasant Hill area. We’re on the job that we were just talking about. What we’re doing today is we’re doing interior drains with wall sheeting on the back wall that isn’t moved in, but they’re getting hydrostatic pressure and water build up. Today is actually good for what we’re doing because it’s a prime example of why we’re doing it. Yesterday, we broke it out, we got the wall up, we got the wall looking good. We come back today and then what we have is we have a ton of water built up in the trench that we dug. So with that being said, we know we’re doing the right thing to take care of all the water issues. Everything is flowing down to the pump that we’re going to put in the corner, but at least we know what we’re doing is going to correct everything that’s going on.
